Summer Sailing 2024

Our Summer Camp is different from previous years. Genesis Hopeful Haven (GHH) was founded in 2014 to prepare youth to successfully transition from the foster care system to a purpose-driven adulthood by providing a haven that promotes hope, healing, and independence. GHH booked 12 days of sailing for 15 minors aged 10-17 y.o.a. The same kids will come each day, so we will get to know one another, which is nice. The camp hours are from 8.30 AM to 11.30 AM. See the dates below.

Genesis Hopeful Haven 6/24/24, 6/25/24, 6/26/24, 6/27/24

Our main event is the USSC/Miami Parks Sailing during the final two weeks of Summer Camp. We might have as many as 15 kids per day visiting. Each day brings kids from a different park. It’s a lot of fun! The camp hours are from 10 AM to 3 PM. See the dates below.

Camp Staff

If any L-1 Certified youth coaches are out there, consider yourself hired! You are on as long as you are a good youth sailor with a couple of weeks to fill! Other than that, I’m looking for the next sailor up! We have several kids that are just about ready to take on some more responsibilities. One kid has signed up for June 6th to August 4th. I plan to train him and anyone who wants to do this beginning in early June. Please show me that you can do it, and you are in. I know some of you already. The RS Feva is the easiest boat to sail, especially without a jib. If you can take a kid with you and introduce sailing, it’s all it takes. The RS Venture is a bit more demanding, but we will teach both boats and prepare you for the main event, City Sailing.

The Genesis Hopeful Haven starts and ends early. There likely will not be much wind, but no worries. We can take a couple of RS Ventures to a nearby sandbar and back. Remember, our safety boat is propellerless. One thing for sure: If you hook up with us this summer, your kid will learn lots about sailing, boating, and taking on responsibilities.

You can reach me at +1-305-776-8778, or WhatsApp, or by email.

Let’s go Sailing,
