The Siebel Sailors Program November 20, 2021

The week of November 16, 2021, was not just another week that just “blew-by” for Team Paradise. While it did "blow-by" both figuratively and actual, it also put exclamation points behind our programming. It was a week when all the training and diligent work produced results. A week when preparations met the opportunity. It was a significant success for us!

It started on Monday, the final week of Give Miami Day. Our advertising campaign on social media was coming to an end. Early mornings had consumed yours truly for weeks. 4-hours of social media creation per day is more time than I would like to spend, but it did pay a dividend. We came close to reaching our target of $25,000 from almost sixty (60) donors. Thanks to all of them (you) we are able to serve our mission. Check out our Instagram posts here.

Wednesday "City Sailing" was challenging in many ways. It was windy and not warm enough for the kids who showed up without proper clothing. Despite it all, we made it back! Thanks to our repetitive training, we have created a "machine" capable of results like this. Our volunteers make the difference! Read the event blog here.

Our Siebel Sailing Program on Saturday looked like a rare cancellation; however, thanks to our volunteers, the schools, and the parents/guardians that we work with, our teamwork became dream work and we had the best program day to date!. It was timely, because our regional Siebel Coach, MacKenzie McGuckin, was present. She channeled good energy and we were all excited to see her. Our challenges included very strong and gusty winds (12-25 kt), the threat of rain and thunderstorms. It was cold and not a perfect day for accomplishing our mission. Look at the pictures and video from this day, below.
