What a Day!
Today was a great day for sailing. The breeze was up, partly cloudy, a couple of nice Sonar sailboats with nothing but wonderful people aboard. Captain Bob, our senior sailing instructor, gave lessons to a couple of veterans and a first responder. The other boat had a veteran, a veteran’s family member, and yours truly aboard as coach and navigator.
We sailed from the US Sailing Center towards Rickenbacker Causeway, then took the Deering Channel towards the Vizcaya, then past Mercy Hospital and onwards to Key Biscayne. We came close to Stiltsville before we turned west and then eventually reached back to port as the wind was picking up nicely. Oh, what a day!
To sum it up, we sailed for about 3-hours. It was therapeutic, relaxing, soothing, scenic and everyone became a better sailor!
