staying close to the shore
Today was another great day for sailing! The Camillus kids returned from Verde Gardens, but sadly, most of our intermediate sailors were absent. No worries, we adjusted our float plan accordingly and used both our RS Ventures and one RS Feva. Josh and Mo were coaching the RS Feva while coach Joe and I observed from the safety boat. Coach Marite and Sarajane (our guest coach for the day) taught aboard the RS Ventures. The offshore breeze was shifty and puffy. Our goal was to eventually all meet at the Sister Banks for some fun at the sand bar, and so we did.
Both the briefing and the debriefing were interactive, entertaining, and worthwhile. It was apparent how much the kids have learned this fall.

How our Students Benefit
Spending time away from mobile devices and computer screens can benefit kids. Reducing screen time promotes healthier habits like physical activities and social interactions. Additionally, water activities can teach kids valuable life skills such as teamwork, communication, and leadership. Overall, getting out on the water is an excellent way for kids to have fun, stay active, and learn essential life lessons.
