breeezy day in paradise
As the founder and program director of Team Paradise Sailing, I could not be more pleased with our performance hosting the SUBWAY Corporate Regatta. It was our sixth corporate event in 2024. Practice makes perfect!
It was an honor to introduce our team during the skipper's meeting. The three skippers (Tom, Fritz, Ken) and the Professional Race Committee (Mark) brought a wealth of experience and a combined 180 years of friendship to ensure the success of our event.
The wind conditions were challenging. Usually, we strive to have our corporate guests do as much hands-on work as possible, but we do not use the jib sail when the wind velocity is in the 15-20 knot range. Our three most fundamental rules are FUN, SAFE, and LEARNING.
Due to our VHF radios with private channels, our ability to communicate between the boats racing, the Race Committee (RC), and the safety boat has improved significantly. It brings me great comfort to know that we are all coordinated. It makes a big difference!
Our four-hour timeline was adhered to satisfactorily. Our After-Sail gathering was moved to the neighboring Coral Reef Yacht Club. What an excellent way to end our event!
