CITY SAILING WITH SHENANDOAH PARK (E-3)

Report from the USSC - City of Miami Parks Department Sailing

On Wednesday, October 6th, we sailed with the same group of kids from Shenandoah Park as we did on September 22nd. The conditions were near perfect and the kids had about as much fun as a kid could have! Our destination was the Vizcaya sandbar. The sailors had to tack a few times, but it was mostly a starboard tack to get there.

It’s amazing that we ended up being all alone on the sandbar. It’s so close to Brickell Avenue and the City Of Miami. To have an exclusive playground like that is just fantastic!

Olivia had her crew lean out and hike hard! Jake’s crew was a bit heavier, but sailed at about the same speed.

It’s great to have the same team of coaches volunteering for the last couple of sessions. Everyone gets to know one another and it’s easier in all regards. The power of repetitions is pretty awesome.
