WHAT WE KNOW
Because Team Paradise Sailing is located within the City of Miami’s Kennedy Park, we remain closed.
City leaders are meeting with the state’s surgeon general tomorrow and will determine when it may be appropriate to begin reopening.
It will be a long reopening process conducted in phases.
Parks, open spaces, marinas and waterways will be part of the “Phase I” reopening.
Phase I will include lifting curfew and shelter-in-place orders. Beaches, parks and marinas will reopen with social distancing of 6 feet or more. Wearing masks will be a requirement.
CHARTING A NEW COURSE
Due to the ongoing closure of our sailing center, we have lost income from sailing lessons, excursions and corporate team building regattas, and it’s looking more and more likely that our summer sailing camp will be canceled.
Once Phase I is instituted and the sailing center has reopened, we will be carefully following the directives of our state and local government for instituting new safety protocol such as limiting the number of people allowed per boat, requiring participants to wear face masks or buffs,
and conducting rigorous cleaning and disinfecting of frequently touched surfaces.
LET’S GO SAILING!
Many activities will be “offline” for the foreseeable future such as concerts, amusement parks, sporting events and festivals. Why not experience a new adventure, a new challenge, a healthy new hobby that gets you out on the water, learning about seamanship and teamwork, breathing in the fresh sea air and communing with nature? Families who have been staying “safer at home” and those heroic first responders and caregivers might really enjoy the
gift of a sailing excursion on Biscayne Bay!
Sailing has been proven to be therapeutic both mentally and physically, and during this chaotic and stressful time our community needs us now more than ever! At Team Paradise Sailing we are unwavering in our dedication to bringing the sport of sailing to our community, but to
