Siebel Sailors Program #2

Intermediate Morning Session

Siebel Intermediate-Jan-15-2022 by Magnus Liljedahl

This morning was very different from a week ago. It was a calm morning. The wind would eventually pick up, but not while we were out. It eventually picked up, but never above 5 knots. What could we do?

Some say that rowing is impossible without oars and others say that sailing can’t happen without wind! But that’s not true and we set out to prove it. Check out the video above and see for yourself. By fanning the sail and rolling the boat while using the rudder in a specific way, it is most definitely possible to sail without wind.

Afternoon Session for Beginners

Siebel Sailors Program 1/8/22 by Magnus Liljedahl

Kids from Breakthrough Miami and the Camillus House joined in with our regular group today for the final sail of winter session #1. Only one kid from the intermediate morning session was able to join in. Other kids had to step up. A few of them will be advancing into the intermediate level when winter session #2 begins on January 29th.

Our Siebel Coach McKenzie McGuckin joined in for the afternoon. We were strong in the coaching department! Marite'', Joe, Mo, and Caro were all there. They are amazing! We could certainly not serve these people without their unselfish effort. They are simply the best! Check out the pictures toward the end of the slide show above. It’s the dream team!
